Apprenticeships have always been a pathway for individuals to gain valuable practical skills and experience in their chosen fields. Plumbing apprenticeships provide individuals with not just a base for a solid, rewarding career but an opportunity to guide and develop the plumbing industry.

Celebrating Apprentice Appreciation Month, we want to highlight the commitment we have made to train our plumbing apprentices.
 

Hands-on Learning

Plumbing is a hands-on trade that requires practical skills along with problem-solving abilities. Our apprenticeship training model provides a path to gain and refine skills through on-the-job training. Under the guidance of our experienced Red-Seal plumbers, apprentices gain valuable real-world experiences to ensure they are well prepared to take on the challenges they will face in their careers going forward.
 

Mentors for apprentices

Mentorship is an instrumental factor in shaping the future of our apprentices. Our approach to apprenticeship is to pair each apprentice with an experienced plumber who will guide them through the learning process, sharing experiences and knowledge. This mentorship enhances the seven to eight weeks of in-school technical training each year, and helps develop a strong work ethic, professionalism and pride in delivering high-quality work.
 

Technology

The plumbing industry is ever-evolving, and the increasing use of technology in the trade has created an opportunity to develop our apprentices’ skills further. By incorporating in-house training and specialized training from our industry partners on the latest tools, equipment and technology into our apprenticeship program, we are developing a workforce to lead the industry.
 

Goals for apprentices

Education is not a one-time event; it is a lifelong journey. By encouraging our apprentices to constantly expand their knowledge and skills, we create a culture of growth and innovation within our company. Our training ambitions go beyond developing just a strong workforce – we strive to provide our apprentices with a solid foundation to build a long-term career, which will, in turn, open doors to greater opportunities and contribute to the strength and sustainability of the plumbing industry.
