The new SBME building will reflect medical innovation’s flexible, ever-shifting nature in every aspect and detail of its architectural structure. Makerspaces and “wet” and “dry” laboratories will be built on a grid; walls will be movable, and lab benches will be realigned according to the demands of a given medical challenge. The same can be said for the mechanical systems at the heart of the building. Our VDC team will build the systems virtually, working from 2D design to fully enable our onsite and prefabrication teams to optimize installations for a flexible and high-end user experience.
